Put a sung hook on your beat and leave the verses open

Upload your beat, paste the hook or let Lyro write one, and choose a sung voice. Lyro’s vocal model sings the hook on your beat’s grid and returns it as a vocal track of its own, so you keep it where the choruses go and leave the verses open for a rapper or a singer. Your beat file is never changed. The cheapest way is to upload only the chorus bars, for 7 credits, and copy the hook to every chorus in the studio. Tell buyers the hook is AI-made.

Plans from $14 a month, enough for about 11 vocals on 1-minute beats. No free trial. Cancel in two clicks.

How to Add AI Vocals to Your Beat (or a Beat to Your Vocals) – Step by Step, 2026 Watch on YouTube

How it goesThree steps

  1. Upload the bars where the hook goesExport the 8 or 16 bars of the chorus from your music software, without your producer tag, and drop them in. Lyro reads the tempo and key in your browser; correct a half or double tempo.
  2. Paste the hook and pick a voiceWrite the hook out in full, tagged [Chorus], or say what the song is about and Lyro writes one. Choose a soulful, soft or powerful female voice, or a deep, smooth or gritty male one.
  3. Copy the hook to every chorusIn the studio, add your full beat as a track and remove the short one, then duplicate the hook clip onto each chorus; clips snap to the beat grid. Balance, master and export.

Generate the hook once and copy that one clip to every chorus. Each generation is a new performance, so hooks generated separately for each chorus will not match.

Writing a hook that lands

  • Fit it to the bars. Sung, a line takes about four seconds: two bars above about 110 BPM, one bar on slower beats. At 140 BPM, four lines fill 8 bars; at 90 BPM, write eight.
  • Write every repeat out. The vocal model sings exactly what it reads, so a note such as “x2” is not a repeat sign to it.
  • Short lines, even counts. Keep the lines to a similar number of syllables. The syllable counter shows the count per line.
  • One central phrase. A hook is usually one phrase said again and again. If Lyro wrote it, the Catchier hook button pushes it further that way.
  • Describe the delivery. Add a line of style, such as “breathy R&B hook, sparse” or “big pop chorus, belted”. You cannot name a real artist.

Selling or leasing a beat with the hook on it

Say the hook is AI-made. Put it in the listing or the message you send. Every download from Lyro carries an ID3 tag declaring it AI-generated, and our acceptable use policy asks you not to say a fully AI-generated track was made without AI when a platform, a distributor, a client or the law asks.

Know what you are selling. Lyro’s commercial licence, included in every paid plan, is granted to you and covers what Lyro generates for you, here the hook. We do not promise that AI-generated audio is exclusive or protected by copyright, so do not sell the hook as either, and tell a buyer what it is before the sale. Stores and distributors each have their own rules about AI audio; check yours.

If you only want buyers to hear what the beat could become, and you deliver the instrumental clean, see demo vocals for beats you sell.

Where the limits are

  • The melody is the model’s. It cannot follow a hook you hum; if you hear the exact hook already, sing a rough take and bring it into the studio.
  • On a full beat with only a hook’s worth of words, the model fills the rest with hums or lines of its own. Upload the chorus bars, or give it lyrics for the whole beat.
  • You choose a voice type, not a singer. Lyro has no voice cloning, and the voice differs from one generation to the next.
  • No harmonies, doubles or ad-libs are stacked for you. Add your own on extra tracks in the studio.
  • A word can land slightly early or late. Split that phrase in the studio and move it on the grid. See AI vocals off beat?
  • You need the rights to everything in the beat, samples and loops included.

Credits and plans

A hook over up to a minute of beat costs 7 credits; a vocal over a three-minute beat costs 11 credits. Bringing your own beat is on every plan: Starter is $14 a month for 80 credits, enough for a hook over the chorus bars 11 times. Writing the hook uses a writing-assistant request, not credits. The studio, mastering and WAV export come with every plan, and a failed job gives back every credit automatically. See the pricing page.

Questions

Can AI put a sung hook on my beat?

Yes. Upload the beat, or only its chorus bars, paste the hook and pick a voice. Lyro’s vocal model sings it on your beat and returns it as a vocal track of its own, so your beat file is never changed. It costs 7 credits for up to a minute of beat, on every plan.

Can I leave the verses open for a rapper?

Yes. Put the hook only where the choruses go: generate it over the chorus bars and duplicate the clip onto each chorus in the studio, or generate over the whole beat and delete the verses. The verse bars stay instrumental.

Can Lyro write the hook for me?

Yes. Say in a line what the song is about and Lyro’s lyric writer drafts words sized to the bars you uploaded. The Catchier hook button rewrites them with more repetition and a simpler central phrase. Edit anything before you generate.

Can I sell or lease a beat with an AI hook on it?

You can, if your store allows AI audio: check its rules. Say in the listing that the hook is AI-made, keep the ID3 tag, and do not sell the hook as exclusive or copyrighted, since we do not promise either for AI output. Every paid plan includes a commercial licence for the hook. See music rights.

Can the hook sound like a famous singer?

No. Lyro has no voice cloning, and our acceptable use policy does not allow naming a real artist as a style or imitating a real person’s voice. Choose a voice type and describe the delivery instead.

What does a hook cost?

7 credits for up to a minute of beat, which covers 8 or 16 chorus bars at most tempos, and 11 credits for a three-minute beat. It is on every plan: Starter is $14 a month for 80 credits. See the pricing page.
