What changed in this version
This version is dated 5 November 2026 and replaces the one before it. The changes that matter, in plain words:
- 5 November 2026: a reminder before every monthly renewal. About a week before a monthly plan renews, we now email you the date, the amount and the card it will be charged to, with a link to check or cancel your plan (section 6). If you get offers by email, that email may also offer you the yearly plan described under "A year at 70% off or more" in section 4.
- 28 October 2026: yearly plans, and the yearly offers changed. Starter and Creator can now be paid yearly as well as monthly: the year is charged at once, it renews every year until you cancel, and the plan's credits still arrive every month (section 4). The pricing page and the app say how much less than twelve monthly payments a year costs, against the monthly price you would be charged. The one-time yearly offer after you buy a monthly plan now appears after your first song since that purchase has finished, rather than right after you pay; it is open for 6 minutes, and if you take it we also add one month of the plan's credits as top-up credits, which never expire. Right after you buy Starter billed yearly, the app may also offer you once to move to Creator billed yearly for the rest of the same year (section 4). Section 8 says how the 14-day right to cancel applies to each. Nothing changes for a plan you already have unless you take one of them.
- 19 October 2026: a lower first-month price, tested on some accounts. When you buy your first plan, on any device and in any country, the app may show you a lower price for the first month of Starter or Creator, next to the regular price it replaces; we are testing it, so some accounts see it and others do not, and the app says "first month price" where it applies. It replaces the phone price of 15 October. The plan then renews at its regular price until you cancel. The price you see before you pay is the price you are charged. Nothing changes for a plan you already have.
- 15 October 2026: a song as a gift, and a year of songs after it. You can now buy one personalised song for another person as a single payment, with no subscription: Lyro writes the lyrics from what you tell us, you can change them, up to 3 versions are sung for you to choose from, and you give the song through a private gift page (section 5a). Right after a gift song is paid for, and once per account, we may offer you a year of Starter with 150 credits at once, open for 24 hours (section 4). Section 8 says how the 14-day right to cancel applies to both.
- 15 October 2026: a phone price for the first month, and one payment in some countries. If you buy your first plan on a phone, the app may show you a lower price for the first month of Starter or Creator, next to the regular price it replaces; we are testing it, so some accounts see it and others do not, and the app says "phone price" where it applies. The plan then renews at its regular price until you cancel. The price you see before you pay is the price you are charged. In the countries where Starter has a regional price, you may also buy Starter's credits as one payment with no subscription (section 4, top-up credits). Nothing changes for a plan you already have.
- 13 October 2026: two offers for some accounts. We do not make every account the same offers, and there are now two, each at most once per account and each with a countdown that is the real deadline. About an hour after you make an account, if you have bought nothing and offers by email are switched on, we may send you one email with 50% off the first payment of Starter or Creator, for 10 minutes from when you open its link. Right after you buy a monthly plan, or a top-up while on one, the app may show you once the same plan billed yearly at 50% off, for 10 minutes. Accounts made before 13 October 2026 that have bought nothing may get the same email once. Section 4 has the conditions, section 8 the 14-day right for the yearly plan and section 12 how often we email offers. Nothing changes for a plan you already have unless you take one of them.
- 12 October 2026: currency and tax at checkout, made clear. These terms said that prices are in US dollars and that the checkout adds tax where it applies. In fact the checkout may show you the price in your own currency, converted by our payment provider, and let you pay in that currency, and we do not add tax at checkout. Section 4 now says so, with what the conversion means for you, and the refunds page says in which currency a refund is paid. This is a clarification: no price has changed for anyone.
- 8 October 2026: one price a month, no first-month price. Starter and Creator now cost the same every month, from the first month on. The first-month prices and Creator's 48-hour first-month offer have ended, and an offer shown to your account before this date is over. The price on the pricing page and at checkout is the price you pay. If you already subscribe, nothing changes for you: you keep your plan, its price and its credits for as long as you stay on it, and you can move to one of the current plans in the app (sections 4 and 7). A checkout opened before this date is completed at the price it showed.
- 7 October 2026: prices are no longer written into these terms. Our pricing is flexible: we are still trying out prices, first-month offers and credit amounts, so they can change over time and can differ between people. The pricing page and the checkout, or the confirmation screen in the app, always show the plan, the price, the first-month price if there is one and the credits before you pay, and the price shown there is the price you pay (section 4). If you already subscribe, nothing changes for you: you keep your plan, its price and its credits for as long as you stay on it, and we email you at least 30 days before any change to them takes effect for you (sections 4 and 6).
- 5 October 2026: offers when you cancel. Cancelling now goes through a few short screens: an optional question, what ends with your plan, and up to two offers, one of them, once per account, a year at 70% off. Every screen has a button that cancels straight away, so cancelling still takes two clicks (sections 4 and 6). A yearly plan now gets a reminder email about 30 days and about 7 days before it renews (section 6).
- 4 October 2026: telling us what went wrong. When you rate a track down you can say what went wrong and, if you want, let our team listen to that one track to fix it (section 14).
- 4 October 2026: new plans and prices. Starter and Creator became the two plans on sale, each with a lower first-month price for a new subscriber; Creator's first month is offered for 48 hours from the moment the offer is first shown to your account. Yearly billing, the Creator slider and the first-song offer are no longer sold. If you already subscribe, nothing changes for you: you keep your plan, its price and its credits for as long as you stay on it, and you can move to one of the new plans in the app whenever you like (sections 4 and 7). Section 12 now says what a countdown on an offer means: the real moment that offer ends for your account.
- 30 September 2026: your own vocal or beat is on every plan again. "A vocal for your beat" and "A beat for your vocal" are part of Starter again, as well as Creator, and cost credits as before. The stem splitter stays on Creator (section 4).
- 29 September 2026: a song for your product page. Song ad reads a product page whose address you give and writes and sings a song for it. It costs 12 credits for 60 seconds, rising with the length to 20 credits for 100 seconds (section 4). You confirm that the product is yours or that you may advertise it, and you are responsible for what the song claims (section 14).
- 28 September 2026: how you ask us to start. Before a payment you now press a button labelled “Agree and …”, with the same words about starting straight away and the 14-day right to cancel right above it, instead of ticking a box under them. What you agree to is unchanged (section 8).
- 27 September 2026: your own vocal or beat moves to Creator. "A vocal for your beat" (Lyro sings a vocal, with or without your lyrics, over a beat you upload) and "A beat for your vocal" (Lyro writes music around a vocal you upload or record) are now part of Creator and no longer part of Starter. A Starter subscription that started before 27 September 2026 keeps both until the end of the billing period that was current on that day. The studio stays on Starter (section 4).
- 25 September 2026: what each plan includes. Starter now includes the studio and WAV export; the stem splitter stays on Creator (section 4). Your own vocal or beat was added to Starter on the same day and moved to Creator on 27 September 2026.
- 25 September 2026: Creator credits. A new Creator subscription then included more credits a month, set by the price you chose. If you already subscribe, you keep your current credits while you stay on the same plan, price and billing interval (section 4).
- 25 September 2026: your own songs. You can now restyle or partly redo a track you uploaded. We do not review, filter or match what you upload; you confirm your rights in the app each time and you are responsible for your uploads (section 14).
- Refunds. A purchase is refunded in full if you cancel within 14 days without having used a credit. Once a credit is used, it is no longer refundable, instead of the proportional refund of the previous version (section 8 and the refunds page).
- A first song. A new account could buy one song of up to 60 seconds, once, without a subscription, made from a description or on its own vocal or beat. Subscribers who joined on 45 Starter credits a month keep 45 for as long as they stay on the same plan and price (section 4).
- Two models. Songs are made on Lyro High (4 credits a song) or Lyro Extra (5 credits a song), the names Lyro gives its models (section 4).
- Top-up packs. Packs now come in whole songs and are priced above a Starter credit. Credits from packs bought before keep working as they did (section 5).
- Yearly billing and the launch offer. Every plan can now be paid yearly for 10 months' price, with credits still arriving every month. Until 31 December 2026, new Starter subscribers pay a lower first payment; renewals are at the regular price (section 4).
- Prices and credits. New plan prices applied from that date. What some tools cost in credits has changed, and new cover art on request now costs credits. Section 4 and the pricing page have the detail.
- Carry-over. Unused plan credits used to be removed at every renewal. They now carry over once, up to one month's worth, and lapse when the plan ends (section 5).
- Top-up credits. They never expire, and you can now spend them after a plan has ended (section 5).
- Changing, pausing and cancelling. All three now happen inside the app. Cancelling takes two clicks and never needs a phone call or an email (sections 6 and 7).
- Your library. New rule: your library is deleted 30 days after your account stops being active, after reminders by email and in the app. Before, tracks stayed for as long as the account was open (section 10).
- Invite a friend. A new programme, with its rules (section 11).
- Messages inside the app. New: tips, product news and offers inside the app are switched on by default, with a switch to turn them off. The same is now true of email: tips and offers by email are switched on by default too, with a switch and a one-click unsubscribe in every email (section 12).
- Sign-up and security. One required tick box at sign-up, a short lock after repeated wrong passwords, and no throwaway email addresses (sections 2 and 3).
- Support. Help inside the app, and what we aim for (section 13).
- Deleting your account now ends any paid plan at the same moment (section 21).
- The iPhone app. Plans and credits bought in the Lyro app for iPhone are sold and billed by Apple, and managed in your Apple Account (section 6a).
If you opened your account before this date, section 24 applies to you: we email you about a change that matters at least 30 days before it takes effect for you.
1. Who we are
Lyro Music is an AI music studio that turns a description, a vocal or a beat into a finished, mixed and mastered song. It is operated by RNIFY Limited, a private limited company registered in England and Wales under company number 16749515, with its registered office at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. "Lyro" is a trading name.
Our website is https://lyromusic.com. Contact us through the contact form or hello@lyromusic.com. In these terms, "we" means RNIFY Limited and "you" means the account holder.
2. These terms
These terms are the contract between you and us. You accept them when you create an account. The sign-up form has one box that you must tick. By ticking it you confirm that you are 16 or over, and that you have read and agree to these terms and the privacy notice. We record the version you accepted and the time.
The acceptable use policy, the refunds page and the copyright page are part of the contract. The privacy notice and the cookies page are information, not contract terms. They explain how we use your data, and ticking the box is not consent to anything in them. Where we need your consent, we ask for it separately.
The contract is in English. Save or print a copy, because we do not file one for each customer. Teams and Ads plans follow their own order where it differs.
3. Your account
You must be 16 or over. An account is for one person, so do not share, sell or transfer it, and do not open more than one to collect credits or offers. Keep your details accurate and your password secret. You are responsible for activity in your account, so tell us at once if someone else has used it.
We protect sign-up and sign-in in ways that you may notice:
- After 8 wrong passwords from one address within 15 minutes, sign-in to that account from that address is refused for 15 minutes. If wrong passwords arrive from many addresses at once (30 within 15 minutes), the account itself is locked for 15 minutes. You can wait, or reset your password, which lifts the lock.
- We refuse sign-ups from throwaway email services. Use an address that you keep, because receipts and notices about your account go there.
- We may show a Cloudflare Turnstile check at sign-up. It tells people from automated programs.
- We refuse passwords that appear in known data breaches.
The privacy notice says what these checks record and for how long.
4. Plans, credits and prices
Lyro is a paid subscription, billed monthly or yearly. There is no free plan and no free trial. Our pricing is flexible: we are still trying out prices, first-month offers and credit amounts, so what is on sale can change from one day to the next, and two people may be shown different prices or offers. We do not write prices in these terms. The pricing page shows what is on sale, and the checkout, or the confirmation screen in the app, shows the plan, the amount, the first-month price if there is one and the credits before you pay. The price shown there is the price you pay. At the date of these terms:
- Starter and Creator are billed monthly or yearly and include a number of credits every month. Creator includes more credits and more features.
- Yearly billing. On a yearly plan the whole year is charged when you buy it, and the plan renews at the same yearly price every year until you cancel. The plan's credits arrive every month, as on a monthly plan, never all at once. Where the pricing page or the app compares a yearly price with monthly payments, the comparison is with twelve payments of the monthly price you would be charged for the same plan, and the percentage is rounded down. A yearly plan is not on sale in every country or in the iPhone app; where it is not, the monthly plans are.
- Teams and Ads plans are custom, by application.
- Offers for some accounts. We do not give every account the same offers. At the date of these terms there are four, described in the next four points. Each is made at most once per account, and each shows a countdown that is the real deadline: when it reaches zero the offer ends for your account, the price is no longer available and the offer does not come back. Apart from them, Starter and Creator cost the same in the second month as in the first, and a plan renews at its regular price until you cancel.
- Half price on your first month, by email. About an hour after you make an account, if you have bought nothing and offers by email are switched on, we may send you one email with 50% off the first payment of Starter or Creator. If you made your account before 13 October 2026, we may send you that same email once, on or after that date. The lower price starts when you open the email's link (if you are not signed in, the link signs you in to the account it was sent to, unless that account uses two-step sign-in), and lasts 10 minutes. A checkout you open in that time keeps the lower price until that checkout itself expires. It is for the first payment only: the plan then renews every month at its regular monthly price, which the checkout shows before you pay, until you cancel. The link works only for the account it was sent to, and only once: after the 10 minutes the regular prices apply and the offer does not come back.
- A year at up to 87% off, after your first song. After you buy a monthly Starter or Creator plan by card on this website (at the email's lower price too), the app may show you once, when your first song since that purchase has finished, the same plan billed yearly, for up to 87% less than twelve months at the monthly price you are charged (rounded down), with the plan's credits every month; if you buy a top-up while you are on such a plan, it may show you the same offer right after that purchase. It is shown within a day of that song or top-up, or not at all. The offer is open for 6 minutes from when it is first on your screen, and it is not shown again after that, or after you say no or close it. If you take it, we also add one month of the plan's credits as top-up credits, once: like any top-up credits they never expire and stay if the plan ends. Before you accept, it shows what you will be charged today: the yearly price less a credit, worked out by our payment provider, for the unused part of the month you have already paid. If you accept, the year starts at once and today's amount is charged. The year's first month of credits replaces the plan credits of the month that was credited back, less any of that month's credits you had already used that the credit also pays back (the offer says how many you start with when that applies); top-up credits stay. It renews at the same yearly price every year until you cancel. You confirm with an “Agree and …” button, with the words of section 8 right above it: once you use a credit, you lose the 14-day right to cancel the year; if you have used no credit, the 14-day right stays in full.
- A year of Starter, right after a gift song. Right after you pay for a gift song (section 5a), if you have no paid plan, the page of that gift may show you once the Starter plan billed yearly, with 150 credits added at once for the whole year instead of every month. The page shows the yearly price in your currency before you accept. The offer is open for 24 hours from when it is first on your screen and is not shown again after that or after you say no; a checkout you open in that time can be paid until that checkout itself expires. The plan starts the day you pay and renews at the same yearly price every year until you cancel, with 150 new credits at each renewal; credits not used by a renewal carry over as in section 5, and lapse when the plan ends. Everything else about Starter in these terms applies to it.
- Creator yearly, right after a yearly Starter. Right after you buy Starter billed yearly by card on this website, the app may show you once, within a day, Creator billed yearly instead. Before you accept, it shows what you will be charged today: the difference between the two yearly prices for the part of your year that is left, worked out by our payment provider, less any discount the offer shows. If the offer shows a discount, the discount is open for 10 minutes from when it is first on your screen and then ends; if it shows none, there is no countdown. If you accept, Creator starts at once for the rest of the same year, the extra monthly credits of Creator are added at once, and the plan renews at Creator's yearly price every year until you cancel. If you say no or close it, it is not shown again. You confirm with an “Agree and …” button, with the words of section 8 right above it.
- A year at 70% off or more, when you cancel. When you cancel a monthly Starter or Creator plan paid by card on this website, the app may offer you, once per account, Starter or Creator paid yearly for at least 70% less than twelve months at that plan's current monthly price, with the plan's credits every month. The offer shows the yearly amount before you accept. If you take it, your yearly plan starts that day and the year is charged at once; what is left of the month you had paid for is not refunded, and unused plan credits carry over as at a renewal (section 5). It renews at the same yearly price every year until you cancel. If you see the offer and cancel anyway, it is not offered again. The same offer may also be in the email we send about a week before a monthly plan renews, if you get offers by email; its button opens it in the app on the same terms, until you take it or turn it down by cancelling after seeing it in the app.
- Plans sold from 4 to 8 October 2026. Those plans, and their first-month prices, are no longer sold. If you subscribe to one of them, you keep it, at its price and with its credits, for as long as you stay on the same plan, price and billing interval; a move to a current plan is at the price on sale then (section 7).
- Plans sold before 4 October 2026. Starter, the Creator slider, the yearly billing of that time (ten months' price for a year) and the first-song offer are no longer sold. If you subscribe to one of those plans, you keep it, at its price and with its credits, for as long as you stay on the same plan, price and billing interval, and you can move to Starter or Creator in the app (section 7). A first song bought before then and not made yet can still be made, on up to 60 seconds; without a plan you can keep up to 10 files of your own for it.
- If you already subscribe when a plan's credits change, you keep the credits you signed up with for as long as you stay on the same plan, price and billing interval.
Starter includes generation, your own vocal or beat as a starting point, meaning "A vocal for your beat" (Lyro sings a vocal, with or without your lyrics, over a beat you upload) and "A beat for your vocal" (Lyro writes music around a vocal you upload or record), the prompt generator, the lyric writer, recording in the browser, the studio (the multitrack mixer, vocal tools and mastering, with WAV export), your library, share pages, and MP3 and FLAC downloads. Creator adds far more credits and the stem splitter, which separates a track into stems. The number of generations that can run at the same time is 1 on Starter and 3 on Creator. Both plans include the commercial licence in section 15, and downloads are never counted or capped.
Generating costs credits. A song or an instrumental costs 4 credits on Lyro High and 5 credits on Lyro Extra, whatever its length. A song for your product page (Song ad) costs 12 credits for 60 seconds, rising in step with its length to 20 credits for 100 seconds; reading the page and writing the lyrics count as writing assistant requests. Work on your own vocal or beat, stem separation, the editing tools and new cover art on request are priced by length or by item. The pricing page has the current table of credit costs. The studio shows the cost of a generation before you confirm it, and that figure applies.
The writing assistant, which is the prompt generator, the lyric writer and rewrites, costs no credits. Each plan includes a number of assistant requests a month instead: 100 on Starter and 400 on Creator. A daily limit of 60 requests also applies. Mixing, mastering and export in the studio cost nothing, because they run in your browser.
Prices are set in US dollars. At checkout our payment provider, Stripe, may show you the price converted into your own currency and let you pay in that currency or in US dollars. Stripe converts at its own exchange rate, which includes a conversion fee of a few per cent, and the checkout shows the amount in your currency before you pay. If you pay in US dollars from an account in another currency, your bank converts the payment and may charge its own fees. A plan paid in your own currency renews in that currency, and because the price is set in US dollars, the amount in your currency can differ slightly from one renewal to the next. We do not add tax at checkout, so the amount the checkout shows is the whole amount we charge. If that changes, the checkout will show the tax and the total before you pay, and these terms will say so. The pricing page and the checkout show current prices, and the price at checkout is the price you pay. Credits have no cash value and cannot be transferred or sold.
5. Carry-over and top-up credits
There are two kinds of credit. Plan credits come with your plan at the start of each billing period, and every month on a yearly plan. Top-up credits are extra credits that you buy in a credit pack, or that you receive as an invite reward. Lyro always spends plan credits first.
Plan credits carry over once. At each renewal you get the new period's credits, and the plan credits you did not use carry over into the new period, up to one month's worth on the plan you are renewing. Anything above that lapses at the renewal. Carry-over continues for as long as the plan stays active. Bonus credits that we add to a plan, for example in an offer, count as plan credits.
Plan credits lapse when the plan ends. If you cancel, they stay usable until the end of the period you paid for, and then they are removed. Settings > Billing shows your balance and your renewal date.
Top-up credits never expire. Subscribers can buy them in packs of different sizes, shown in the app and at checkout. They are spent only when your plan credits have run out. They stay usable after a plan ends, with the features of the Starter plan. You need a plan to buy a pack, but not to spend one. In some countries, where the app shows it, you can also buy Starter's credits without a plan, as one payment with no subscription: those are top-up credits too, and nothing renews. They are removed only if the account is deleted or closed (section 21).
Top-up credits cost more per credit than plan credits. We price a top-up credit above a credit on the Starter plan, and more again against the Creator plan. If you run out of credits most months, a bigger plan gives you more credits for each dollar than top-ups do.
5a. A song as a gift
You can buy one song made for another person, as a single payment with no subscription and no plan. You need a Lyro account to buy it, so that you can find the song again.
- Price. The page and the checkout show the price before you pay, in euros, pounds or US dollars depending on where you are. We do not add tax at checkout. Nothing renews and nothing else is charged.
- What you get. Lyro writes the lyrics from the details you give us. You can read and change them, and ask for up to 4 new drafts, before anything is sung. Then up to 3 versions of the song are sung, about 2.5 minutes each, and you choose which one goes in the gift. A version that fails does not count. Each version is also in your library, with an MP3 download, under the licence in section 15.
- Made with AI. The lyrics are written and the song is sung by AI models (section 18). The voice is not a real person's, and a rare name can be pronounced oddly; the form has a field for how a name is said, and you have several versions to choose from.
- The gift page. You get a link to a page that plays the chosen version and shows the lyrics, your name and your message. Anyone with the link can open it, so share it only with the people you mean to. Search engines are asked not to list it. We tell you on your page when it was first opened. You can change your name and message there at any time. An account that has bought a gift song counts as active under section 10, so the song and its page are not deleted for lack of a plan; they stay until you delete the song or your account.
- Details about another person. To write the song you tell us about someone else: a first name and some memories or habits. Only tell us what you are comfortable with that person hearing in a song, and nothing sensitive, such as health, religion or sexual life, unless you know they are happy with it. You are responsible for what you write and for sharing the song; the rules in section 17 apply. Our privacy notice says how we handle these details.
- Your right to cancel is in section 8.
6. Payment, renewal and cancelling
Your plan renews automatically at the end of each billing period, every month (every year for a yearly plan), until you cancel. If a plan had a lower first-month price, that price applied to the first month only; renewals are at the regular price. Stripe takes the payment at the start of each billing period, and we never see your full card number. We email you at least 30 days before a price change applies to you. On a monthly plan we email you about a week before each renewal, with the date, the amount, the card and how to cancel. On a yearly plan we also email you about 30 days and again about 7 days before it renews, with the date, the amount and how to cancel.
If a payment fails, we tell you by email and in the app, and the card is tried again. Your plan stays on and nothing in your library is deleted while that is going on. If the payment and its retries fail, we may limit or end the plan, and section 10 then applies to your library.
Cancelling. You can cancel at any time inside the app. Go to Settings > Billing, choose "Cancel plan" and then the button that cancels now. That is two clicks. You never need to phone us or email us to cancel. On the way we ask one optional question about why you are leaving, show what ends with your plan, and may show up to two offers: a pause, a move to Starter or some bonus credits, and, once per account, a year at 70% off (section 4). Every one of those screens has a plain button that cancels straight away, so you can skip the question and the offers. None of them can stop or delay your cancellation. We confirm the cancellation by email.
Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep your plan and your credits until the end of the period you paid for, and until then you can undo the cancellation in the same place. After that, unused plan credits are removed, top-up credits stay, and section 10 says what happens to your library. We refund part of a period only under section 8, the refunds page or the law.
6a. Buying in the Lyro app for iPhone
If you buy a plan or credits inside the Lyro app for iPhone, Apple sells and bills the purchase through your Apple Account under Apple's own terms. The plans, the credits and the rest of these terms are the same, with these differences:
- Payment and renewal. Apple charges the price the app shows, in your local currency. A plan renews automatically at the end of each period, monthly or yearly, unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the period ends.
- Prices and one account. Apple takes a commission on everything bought in the app, so the prices in the app are higher than on this website. The plan, its credits and its features are the same. One account works in both places: a plan bought in the app works when you sign in here, and a plan bought here works in the app.
- Cancelling and changing. You manage an App Store plan in your iPhone's Settings, under your name and then Subscriptions, or with "Manage subscription" in the app. Only you can cancel it there; we cannot cancel it for you, and deleting your Lyro account does not stop Apple from charging you. Moving between plans takes effect as Apple describes on that screen. Pausing is not available for App Store plans.
- Introductory prices. A launch or introductory price in the app is an Apple introductory offer. It applies to the first period only and once per Apple Account.
- Refunds. Apple handles refunds for App Store purchases under its own policies; you ask for one at reportaproblem.apple.com. Your rights under the law are not affected. When Apple refunds a purchase, we remove the credits or the plan it paid for.
- Licence to the app. The app is licensed to you under Apple's Licensed Application End User Agreement, together with these terms. Apple is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for Lyro, its content, its support or any claim about it.
7. Changing or pausing your plan
You can move between Starter and Creator, or from a plan sold before 4 October 2026 to one of them, or pause your plan, inside the app in Settings > Billing. A move to a plan with a higher monthly price is a move up; a move to a lower one is a move down.
- Moving up. We charge the price difference for the rest of the current billing period straight away, worked out pro rata, and we add the extra monthly credits at once. From the next renewal you pay the new price. Because an upgrade starts at once, section 8 applies to it.
- Moving down. The change takes effect at your next renewal. Until then you keep the plan you have paid for, and the credits you already have stay. From that renewal you pay the lower price and get the smaller number of credits.
- Pausing. You can pause a plan for 1 to 3 months. We count a month as 30 days. While the plan is paused we do not charge you and you get no new credits. Your library stays exactly as it is, and so do the credits you already have. When you pause, we show you the date the pause ends and confirm it by email. The plan then carries on by itself: we take the next payment on your first renewal date after the pause ends, and that period's credits arrive with it. You can end a pause early, or cancel, at any time in Settings > Billing.
8. Your 14-day right to cancel
Consumers in the UK or the EU can cancel a new plan or a credit pack within 14 days without giving a reason. In the UK this comes from the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
Lyro starts the moment you pay. Each credit you use supplies digital content you asked for: a track, a stem, a mix or artwork. Before checkout you press a button labelled “Agree and continue” (or “Agree and …” for the action you chose), with words right above it that ask us expressly to start straight away and acknowledge that once you use a credit, you lose your right to cancel and no refund is due. So:
- if you cancel within 14 days and have used no credit, we refund in full;
- once you have used a credit, the right to cancel has ended and we do not refund the purchase;
- this is the same for every plan and billing period, and for first-month and other discounted prices;
- a renewal does not start a new 14-day period, unless the law where you live says otherwise.
The same rule applies to a yearly plan (the year), to a move up to a bigger plan (the extra credits), to a top-up credit pack (that pack's credits), to a yearly plan taken from the offer after a purchase in section 4 (the year) and to the move from yearly Starter to Creator yearly in section 4 (what that move charged); each has its own checkbox before you pay. For a gift song (section 5a), the words above the payment button ask us to start straight away: you can cancel within 14 days for a full refund until the first version of the song has been made, and once it has been made the right to cancel has ended. The year of songs offered after a gift (section 4) follows the rule for plans: a full refund within 14 days if you have used none of its credits. The refunds page has the exact words, the steps and a model cancellation form. None of this affects your rights if something we supply is faulty (section 9 and the refunds page).
9. Failed generations
If a generation fails, every credit it took comes back automatically, to the balance it came from. That covers a rejected request, an error and a job that does not finish in time. If the generation was the first step of a longer job, the credits you paid in advance for the later steps come back too. You do not need to ask: you see a notice in the app and a refund line in your credit history.
A track you do not like is not a failure: credits pay for the generation, not for a particular result. If a file is faulty, contact us and we will return the credits or run it again.
10. Your library and how long we keep it
Your library is kept for as long as your account is active. An account is active while it has a plan or any unused top-up credits. A paused plan counts as a plan, and so does a plan with a failed payment that is still being retried.
When your account stops being active, for example because your plan has ended and you have no top-up credits, we keep your library for 30 more days. We remind you by email and in the app 30, 7 and 1 days before the deletion date, and each reminder gives the date. Then we delete your tracks and your studio projects. That includes the stems, uploads, recordings and cover art stored with them, and share links to those tracks stop working.
Your account itself stays. You can still sign in, your billing records and credit history remain, and the licence to the tracks you have made continues (section 15). If you start a plan again before the deletion date, everything is kept and the countdown stops. Downloads are never capped, so you can save anything you want to keep before then. Once files are deleted we cannot bring them back.
Each plan has a limit on how much your library can store. If you reach it, the app tells you, and you can make room by deleting files that you no longer need.
We may in future set a storage period for individual tracks, so that a track is kept for a set time after it was made. We have not done this. If we do, we will say so in the app, and no track will be deleted with less than 7 days' notice. A change like that matters, so section 24 applies to it as well: we would email you at least 30 days before it takes effect.
11. Invite a friend
Every subscriber has a personal invite link in the app. When a friend opens your link, creates a new account and starts their first paid plan, you both get 20 credits. They are added as top-up credits, so they never expire.
- When the reward arrives. 7 days after your friend's first payment, as long as their plan is still active then. If that payment has been refunded or the plan has ended by then, there is no reward.
- Limit. At most 10 rewards for one inviter in any 30 days.
- What does not count. Inviting yourself, and invites between accounts that appear to come from the same household or network. The friend must be new to Lyro, and both accounts must be open and in good standing when the reward is due.
- The link. Opening an invite link sets one cookie,
lyro_ref, for 30 days. Its only job is to credit the invite, so your friend needs to sign up in the same browser within that time. The cookies page has the detail. - Fair use. Share your link with people you know. Do not post it as spam or as advertising, and do not create accounts to invite yourself. We may withhold a reward if we reasonably believe that the programme is being abused. If you think we withheld one by mistake, contact us and a person will review it.
We do not ask for your friends' contact details, and we do not message them. Invite rewards have no cash value. We may change or end the programme for future invites. Rewards you have already earned are not affected.
12. Messages inside the app, and email
Tips, product news and offers inside the app are switched on by default. They appear as cards, banners or slide-ins while you are using Lyro. By creating an account you agree to receive them. You can switch them off at any time in Settings > Notifications. Switching them off changes nothing else about your plan, your account or your rights.
Messages about your own account are always shown, whatever that switch says. Examples are a failed payment, a plan that is ending or paused, a reminder that your library will be deleted, a reply from support and a credit refund.
We hold ourselves to these limits for tips, product news and offers:
- promotional messages: at most 1 in a day and 5 in a week, although the same message may still be there when you come back to a page on the same day;
- never while a generation is running;
- a message that you dismiss stays away for 7 days, for 30 days after a second dismissal, and for good after a third;
- no made-up scarcity, and no countdown except to a real deadline: a countdown on an offer shows the moment that offer really ends for your account, and the price is not available after it.
A small share of accounts, picked at random, never gets promotional messages, so that we can measure whether the messages help. The two offers in section 4 are not part of that measurement: those accounts can get them too. The privacy notice explains what we record.
Email. We always send emails about your account: receipts, failed payments, confirmation that you cancelled or paused, reminders before your library is deleted, replies from support and similar notices. Tips, product news and offers by email are switched on by default; the switch in Settings turns them off, and every such email has a one-click unsubscribe link. The email with the first-month offer in section 4 is one of these offers: it is sent only while offers by email are switched on, and it has the unsubscribe link. We send at most one offer or reminder email in 24 hours, so a reminder about a checkout you did not finish may wait behind the first-month offer.
13. Help and support
Help inside the app opens a conversation with our team. So that you do not have to explain your account, the conversation carries your plan, your credit balance and your last failed generation automatically. The contact form on the website reaches the same team, and you do not need an account to use it.
We aim to reply within one working day. That is a target and not a guarantee.
14. Your content
What you bring to Lyro stays yours: audio you upload or record, lyrics, prompts and titles.
You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, copy, process and transmit your content, only to provide and secure the service. That includes sending it to the model providers that carry out your request and serving share links you switch on. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, unless we must keep a copy for a complaint or a legal claim. It does not let us train AI models on your content or use your tracks in marketing without your agreement.
When you rate a track down you can tick a box that lets the people who run Lyro listen to that track and read its lyrics, to find out what went wrong and fix it. They do this only for the tracks you choose, and only for that purpose. Rate the track again without the box ticked, or delete it, and they stop.
You promise that you have the rights to your content, in both the recording and the song, that every person whose voice is in it has agreed, and that it follows the acceptable use policy.
We do not review, filter or match what you upload before it is processed, and we do not check who owns it. You alone decide what you upload and what you ask Lyro to do with it, and you are responsible for it. When you restyle or redo part of a file you uploaded, the app asks you to confirm your rights again, and we keep a record of that confirmation. If we receive a valid notice that content infringes someone's rights, we remove it, and we close the accounts of people who infringe repeatedly (see the copyright page).
When you ask for a song for a product page, you confirm that the product is yours or that you may advertise it. Lyro reads that page and writes the song from what it says, but you decide what the song claims and where you use it. You are responsible for making sure its claims are true and that any advertising you make with it follows the law and the rules of the platforms where it runs.
If someone claims against us because your content infringes their rights or breaks that policy, you will compensate us for the reasonable losses and costs that result, including reasonable legal fees. Our model provider's terms put the same duty on us. We will tell you about a claim promptly, and this does not apply to the extent that we caused the problem.
15. Your tracks: the licence and the copyright position
As between you and us, you own whatever rights exist in the tracks you make. We claim none. To the extent that we hold any rights in them, we grant you a worldwide, perpetual, royalty-free licence to use your tracks commercially. Every paid plan includes it, and it also covers tracks that you make with top-up credits after a plan has ended. It continues after your plan ends, and after we delete our copy of a track under section 10, for the tracks you have made. It is subject to these terms and to our model providers' terms (section 17), and it does not cover a track made or used in breach of them.
We do not promise that copyright protects your tracks. The US Copyright Office has said that works generated entirely by AI are not copyrightable and that prompts alone are not enough, although parts that a person wrote, selected, arranged or changed can be. In the UK, section 9(3) of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 protects computer-generated works, but the Government's March 2026 report on copyright and AI said that protection should be removed, and the law is under review.
Your own lyrics, vocal, arrangement and edits stay yours. Other users may receive similar output and may use theirs. The music rights page has the plain-English version.
16. No promise of originality
AI output can resemble existing music, lyrics or voices, even when you did not ask for that. We do not promise that output is original or non-infringing, or that a platform will accept it, and we do not indemnify you against claims about your tracks. Check before you release: listen for a close resemblance to a known song or singer, and do not release a track that worries you.
17. Acceptable use and model providers' policies
You must follow the acceptable use policy. Among other things, it bans cloning a real person's voice without documented consent, uploading material you have no rights to, deceptive or illegal content, streaming fraud, automated sign-ups, and opening extra accounts or abusing the invite programme to collect credits.
Lyro reaches its AI models through fal.ai: Lyro High and Lyro Extra are models from Google, and the studio tools for your own audio use the open-source ACE-Step model. The fal.ai acceptable use policy and Google's generative AI prohibited use policy form part of these terms. If a provider changes its policy, we may have to change what Lyro allows.
18. Labels, watermarks and AI disclosure
Your tracks are marked as AI-generated, and the marks must stay. Songs from Lyro High and Lyro Extra carry the model provider’s SynthID watermark, and every download of generated audio carries an ID3 tag, a block of data in the file that declares it AI-generated. Do not remove, alter or hide them.
When you publish, keep the AI-generated label and metadata wherever the law or the platform requires it, including under Article 50 of the EU AI Act, which applies from 2 August 2026. Answer truthfully when a distributor or platform asks about AI. If editing or converting a file strips the tag, the duty to disclose stays with you.
19. Share links and reports
A share link is unlisted: search engines are told not to index it and there is no public feed, but anyone with the link can listen. You can switch it off at any time, and you are responsible for what you share. Every share page has a "Report this track" control. We review reports and may switch off a link or remove a track while we look into it. Rights holders can use the copyright page.
20. Changes to the service and the models
Lyro will change. We may add, replace or retire models and features, and change credit costs for future generations. We do not promise that a specific model stays available or that a prompt gives the same result later. If a change removes something important that you paid for, we tell you in advance where we can, and you may cancel and get a refund for the unused part of the period. The service may be interrupted at times, and Lyro is not a backup, so download the tracks you care about.
21. Suspension and ending the contract
You can end the contract at any time by cancelling your plan, or by deleting your account in Settings. Deleting your account ends any plan paid on the web at the same moment, so you are never charged again. A plan bought in the iPhone app is billed by Apple, so turn off its renewal in your Apple Account as well (section 6a). Deleting also erases your tracks, projects, support conversations and activity, and it removes any credits you have left, including top-up credits, so use them first. It cannot be undone. Section 6 applies to refunds in the same way as when you cancel, so if you want to use the time you have paid for, cancel the plan and delete the account after the period ends.
We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, do not pay, or put other people or the service at risk, or if the law requires it. We give notice and a chance to put things right where reasonable, and we act at once in serious cases such as illegal content or fraud.
When an account closes, access ends and your tracks and credits are deleted. If we close it for your serious breach, we refund only what the law requires. If we close it for any other reason, we refund the unused part of the period and unused top-up credits at the price you paid. Sections 14 to 16, 22 and 25 continue after the contract ends.
22. Our responsibility to you
We do not exclude or limit liability where that would be unlawful. That covers death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and your legal rights as a consumer, including a service provided with reasonable care and skill and digital content that is as described and of satisfactory quality.
Otherwise:
- we are responsible only for foreseeable loss caused by our breach or by our failure to use reasonable care and skill;
- we are not liable for business losses, such as lost profit, lost business or business interruption, even though your licence lets you earn money from your tracks;
- our total liability to you is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the event that gave rise to the claim;
- we are not responsible for events outside our reasonable control, including a failure at a model provider.
23. Complaints
Tell us first, so that we can fix it. Contact us through the contact form or hello@lyromusic.com. If we cannot settle a complaint, we will tell you in writing, name an alternative dispute resolution provider that could handle it, and say whether we are prepared to use it. You can also go to court under section 25.
24. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms to reflect changes in the law, the service, our providers' terms or our prices. For a change that matters, we email you at least 30 days before it takes effect, unless the law or a security problem needs a faster change. If you do not accept it, you can cancel before it takes effect, and we refund any period paid for beyond that date.
25. Governing law, courts and other terms
The law of England and Wales governs these terms. Consumers living elsewhere keep the protection of the mandatory laws of their country. You can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales, in your local courts if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, and, as a consumer outside the UK, in your home courts where the law entitles you to.
We may transfer this contract to an organisation that takes over Lyro without affecting your rights. You may not transfer it. Nobody else has rights under it. If part of it is found invalid, the rest still applies, and a delay in enforcing a term does not waive it.
