How to get a demo you can use
- Write enough words. A full verse and a chorus at least. With only about four lines, the model fills the song with lines of its own.
- Tag the parts. [Verse], [Chorus] and [Bridge] tell the model where the song turns, and a chorus written the same way each time is sung the same way each time.
- Even out the lines. Lines sung to the same tune should have about the same number of syllables. The syllable counter checks them for you.
- Spell it the way it sounds. Write numbers out as words, and respell unusual names the way they are said.
- Make two or three takes. Every take has a new melody. Keep the one closest to how you hear the song.
- Demo the part that matters. For a pitch, a verse and a chorus may be all you need, and on the beat route a shorter beat costs fewer credits.
Voice and language
You choose a voice type, not a singer: a soulful, soft or powerful female voice, a deep, smooth or gritty male voice, rap, or a duet. Add a line about the delivery in the style box, such as “warm and close, little vibrato”. Your words can be in English, Turkish, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Arabic, Hindi, Japanese, Korean or Russian; set the language yourself rather than leaving it to be detected.
Without a beat, Lyro High is the default and Lyro Extra is made for English, German, Spanish, French, Hindi, Japanese, Korean and Portuguese. On a beat, lyrics in any language but Turkish go to the vocal model; Turkish lyrics are sung by Lyro High at your beat’s tempo and key and separated from the music. Lyro has no voice cloning, and it cannot sing in a real artist’s voice or take their name as a style.
Where the limits are
- The melody is the model’s. It writes its own tune for your words and a new one on every take, so it will not follow a melody you have in your head. If the exact tune matters, record a rough guide yourself, even humming into a phone, so a singer can learn it. - A long lyric can come back with a line skipped or changed. Check the demo against your text before you send it.
- AI vocals can mispronounce words, especially names, slang and rare words.
- On the beat route a word can land slightly early or late. Split that phrase in the studio and move it on the grid.
- A song made without a beat is at most 3 minutes long, and the Lyrics box takes up to 3,000 characters.
- Only use lyrics you wrote or have permission to use.
Your lyrics, the demo and your rights
Lyrics you wrote are human-authored work, and they stay yours: Lyro claims no rights in what you type or upload. As between you and Lyro, you own whatever rights exist in the generated music and vocal, and every paid plan includes a commercial licence for them, so you can pitch the demo, post it or release it. We do not promise copyright protection for AI-generated audio. The US Copyright Office concluded in January 2025 that works generated entirely by AI are not copyrightable, while human-authored elements can be protected (US Copyright Office, Copyright and AI, Part 2).
