Suno prompt generator

Pick a genre, a mood, a few instruments and a vocal, and this tool writes a style prompt for the Styles box in Suno’s Custom mode: tempo, drums, bass, harmony, lead sounds, vocal character and mix, the most important words first. It runs in your browser and needs no account. To keep Suno v6 from rewriting it, set the Variety slider to 0. Lyro Music makes this tool and is not affiliated with Suno.

Suno v6 and older prompt guides

Suno has retired every model before v6. v6-mini is on every plan, v6 and v6-wild are on Pro and Premier, and one generation makes two songs for 10 credits; Max Mode costs more (Suno v6 FAQ). Prompt guides written for v4.5 or v5 describe models you can no longer pick, so test their tricks before you rely on them.

Two v6 points matter for a prompt from this page. The Variety slider adjusts and updates your style prompts, so turn it to 0 to keep your words as they are. And Suno says v6 understands more of the language musicians use for vocals, instrumentation, structure and mood, which is what this tool writes. Exclude and the Creative Sliders are described on help pages written before v6 (Exclude, Creative Sliders), so check that your Create screen still shows them.

Questions

Do these prompts work in Suno v6?

Yes. They are plain descriptions of a sound: genre, tempo, instruments, vocal and mix. Suno says v6 understands the language musicians use for vocals, instrumentation, structure and mood. Paste the prompt into Styles in Custom mode, and set Variety to 0 if you want it used as written.

Why does Suno change my style prompt?

In v6 the Variety slider adjusts and updates your style prompts to add variety. Suno’s own advice is to reduce it to 0 if you want to keep full control of your style tags (Suno v6 FAQ).

How do I stop Suno adding an instrument I do not want?

Use Exclude: open Advanced options in Custom mode and type the instrument or sound there (Suno help centre). Writing “no piano” into the style text is less direct, because the style text describes what to include.

Where do the lyrics go?

In the Lyrics box of Custom mode, with section tags such as [Verse] and [Chorus], never in Styles. Suno’s help centre says you keep the rights to original lyrics you type in (Suno help centre).

Can I put an artist’s name in a Suno prompt?

Describe the sound instead: the era, the instruments, the vocal and the mix. A description is something you can reuse and adjust, and many AI music tools refuse artist names.

Is this an official Suno tool?

No. Lyro Music makes it and is not affiliated with Suno. Lyro is a separate AI song generator: see Lyro vs Suno, and Suno alternatives for other tools.
