What counts as a song

The table counts generations, and a generation is not a finished song. Three things move the real figure.

How many you keep. If you keep one take in five, multiply every price above by five. That ratio is yours, not the tool’s, and it is usually the biggest factor.
Length. Udio’s figure is for a song of 2 minutes 10 seconds, and longer songs are built by extending, which costs more credits. ElevenLabs bills by the minute. Suno’s “roughly 500 songs” is Suno’s own estimate.
Unused allowance. Suno, Udio and Stable Audio all say plan credits do not roll over. On Lyro, plan credits you do not use carry over once, up to one month’s worth.

Download limits change the arithmetic

If you need the file, the number that matters is the price per song you can download.

Suno. 20 downloads a month on Pro and 60 on Premier from 3 Sep 2026, so $0.50 a song on either plan if you use them all. A song and its stems count as one download, extra downloads are sold separately, and exports from Suno Studio on Premier are not limited (Suno downloads FAQ).
Udio. Downloading is disabled (Udio help centre, 17 Feb 2026), so the low price buys listening inside Udio.
AIVA. Plans are sold by the download: €1.00 a track on Standard and €0.16 on Pro, on monthly billing.
No limit. Mureka’s paid plans, Stable Audio and Lyro do not limit downloads, so the price per generated song is also the price per file.

Flat-rate plans do not fit the table. Soundraw’s Creator plan has unlimited MP3 downloads, so its price per song depends only on how many you make (soundraw.io pricing).

Where Lyro sits, and what the extra money buys

Lyro is not the cheapest. At $0.25 to $0.27 a song it costs around 13 times as much per generation as Suno Pro or Mureka Pro, and less than ElevenLabs Music or AIVA Standard. One reason is structural: Lyro pays outside model providers for every generation. If price per draft is what matters to you, Suno or Mureka is the better buy.

The extra money does not buy features the cheaper tools lack. Suno’s pricing page lists audio upload on every plan, adding a vocal or an instrumental and stem separation from Pro, and a studio on Premier (suno.com pricing). What a Lyro plan does include:

Downloads that are never counted. MP3 and FLAC on every plan, WAV on Creator.
A mixer and mastering that use no credits. On Creator, from $19 a month, both run in your browser.
Your own vocal or beat, handled in a specific way. On Creator, Lyro detects tempo and key in the browser. A beat written around your vocal, or an improvised vocal over your beat, costs one credit per started minute, minimum 2. Your lyrics sung at your beat’s tempo and key come back as an isolated vocal stem.
A model chosen for sung Turkish. Lyro picked its model for sung lyrics with one small Turkish pronunciation test. None of the other tools here was part of it.

How to work out your own cost

Divide the monthly price by the number of songs you keep and can download.

Count the songs you finished last month, not the takes you generated.
Cap that number at the plan’s download limit, if it has one.
Divide the monthly price by it.

Someone who keeps 10 songs a month pays $1.00 a song on Suno Pro ($10 ÷ 10) and on Mureka Pro. On Lyro Starter, 11 songs for $3 is $0.27 each if every take is a keeper, and more if not. At low volume the monthly price matters more than the price per generation. At high volume it is the reverse.

Each figure comes from the company’s own pricing or help page, opened on 21 Sep 2026. Dollar amounts are rounded to the cent, or to a tenth of a cent below two cents. Annual billing is cheaper where a company offers it, and the price column shows both.

We left out tools whose price or allowance we could not confirm on their own site, and Soundraw’s dollar prices, because its pricing page showed us local currency only. What is the cheapest AI music generator per song?

Of the plans we could verify on 21 Sep 2026, Udio Standard is lowest at about $0.008 a generated song, but Udio has disabled downloads. Among tools that let you download, Suno Pro and Mureka Pro are lowest at about $0.02 a generated song, and Suno Pro limits you to 20 downloads a month.

How much does one Suno song cost?

About $0.02 on Pro: $10 a month for 2,500 credits, which Suno describes as roughly 500 songs (Suno plan guide, 31 Aug 2026). Pro includes 20 downloads a month, so each downloaded song costs $0.50 if you use them all.

How much does a song cost on Lyro?

A song on Lyria 3 Pro, Lyro’s default model for songs, costs 4 credits, whatever its length. That is about $0.27 on Starter ($3 for 45 credits) and $0.25 on Creator ($19 for 300 credits). There is no free plan. See the pricing page.

Why does Lyro cost more per song than Suno?

Lyro pays outside model providers for every generation. Its Creator plan also includes tools that use no credits, the mixer and mastering, and downloads are uncapped on every plan. If you only want the most drafts for the least money, Suno or Mureka costs less.
