# Terms of service

Last updated 21 September 2026

- Lyro is a paid monthly subscription with credits, run by RNIFY Limited in the UK, for adults.

- Plans renew monthly until you cancel. You cancel inside the app, in Settings > Billing, in two clicks. You can also pause a plan, or move to a bigger or a smaller one.

- Unused plan credits carry over once, up to one month's worth, and lapse when the plan ends. Top-up credits never expire.

- Your library is kept while your account is active. After that we keep it for 30 more days, remind you 30, 7 and 1 days before, and then delete it.

- Tips, product news and offers inside the app are switched on by default. You can switch them off in Settings > Notifications. Messages about your own account are always shown.

- Your uploads stay yours. Your tracks come with a commercial licence, but we do not promise copyright protection or originality.

- Failed generations return their credits. Keep the AI labels on your tracks.

This summary is a reading aid and is not legally binding. The sections below are.

## What changed in this version

This version is dated 21 September 2026 and replaces the one before it. The changes that matter, in plain words:

- **Prices and credits.** Starter is now $3 a month and the Creator slider starts at $19. What some tools cost in credits has changed, and new cover art on request now costs credits. Section 4 and the [pricing page](https://lyromusic.com/pricing) have the detail.

- **Carry-over.** Unused plan credits used to be removed at every renewal. They now carry over once, up to one month's worth, and lapse when the plan ends (section 5).

- **Top-up credits.** They never expire, and you can now spend them after a plan has ended (section 5).

- **Changing, pausing and cancelling.** All three now happen inside the app. Cancelling takes two clicks and never needs a phone call or an email (sections 6 and 7).

- **Your library.** New rule: your library is deleted 30 days after your account stops being active, after reminders by email and in the app. Before, tracks stayed for as long as the account was open (section 10).

- **Invite a friend.** A new programme, with its rules (section 11).

- **Messages inside the app.** New: tips, product news and offers inside the app are switched on by default, with a switch to turn them off. Marketing email is still sent only if you opt in (section 12).

- **Sign-up and security.** One required tick box at sign-up, a short lock after repeated wrong passwords, and no throwaway email addresses (sections 2 and 3).

- **Support.** Help inside the app, and what we aim for (section 13).

- **Deleting your account** now ends any paid plan at the same moment (section 21).

If you opened your account before this date, section 24 applies to you: we email you about a change that matters at least 30 days before it takes effect for you.

## 1. Who we are

Lyro is an AI music studio that turns a description, a vocal or a beat into a finished, mixed and mastered song. It is operated by RNIFY Limited, a private limited company registered in England and Wales under company number 16749515, with its registered office at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. "Lyro" is a trading name.

Our website is https://lyromusic.com. Contact us through [the contact form](https://lyromusic.com/contact) or [hello@lyromusic.com](mailto:hello@lyromusic.com). In these terms, "we" means RNIFY Limited and "you" means the account holder.

## 2. These terms

These terms are the contract between you and us. You accept them when you create an account. The sign-up form has one box that you must tick. By ticking it you confirm that you are 18 or over, and that you have read and agree to these terms and the privacy notice. We record the version you accepted and the time.

The [acceptable use policy](https://lyromusic.com/legal/acceptable-use), the [refunds page](https://lyromusic.com/legal/refunds) and the [copyright page](https://lyromusic.com/legal/copyright) are part of the contract. The [privacy notice](https://lyromusic.com/legal/privacy) and the [cookies page](https://lyromusic.com/legal/cookies) are information, not contract terms. They explain how we use your data, and ticking the box is not consent to anything in them. Where we need your consent, we ask for it separately.

The contract is in English. Save or print a copy, because we do not file one for each customer. Teams and Ads plans follow their own order where it differs.

## 3. Your account

You must be 18 or over. An account is for one person, so do not share, sell or transfer it, and do not open more than one to collect credits or offers. Keep your details accurate and your password secret. You are responsible for activity in your account, so tell us at once if someone else has used it.

We protect sign-up and sign-in in ways that you may notice:

- After 8 wrong passwords from one address within 15 minutes, sign-in to that account from that address is refused for 15 minutes. If wrong passwords arrive from many addresses at once (30 within 15 minutes), the account itself is locked for 15 minutes. You can wait, or reset your password, which lifts the lock.

- We refuse sign-ups from throwaway email services. Use an address that you keep, because receipts and notices about your account go there.

- We may show a Cloudflare Turnstile check at sign-up. It tells people from automated programs.

- We refuse passwords that appear in known data breaches.

The [privacy notice](https://lyromusic.com/legal/privacy) says what these checks record and for how long.

## 4. Plans, credits and prices

Lyro is a paid monthly subscription. There is no free plan and no free trial. At the date of these terms:

- **Starter** costs $3 a month and includes 45 credits in each billing period.

- **Creator** is a slider. It runs from $19 a month for 300 credits to $99 a month for 1,560 credits, in $10 steps. Credits grow in the same proportion as the price, rounded down to a multiple of five, so apart from that rounding the price per credit is the same at every stop.

- **Teams and Ads** plans are custom, by application.

Starter includes generation, the prompt generator, the lyric writer, your library, share pages, and MP3 and FLAC downloads. Creator adds the studio (the multitrack mixer, vocal tools and mastering), stem separation, bringing your own vocal or beat, and WAV export. The number of generations that can run at the same time is 1 on Starter and 3 on Creator. Both plans include the commercial licence in section 15, and downloads are never counted or capped.

Generating costs credits. A song or an instrumental made with Google Lyria 3 Pro costs 4 credits, whatever its length. ACE-Step 1.5, stem separation, the editing tools and new cover art on request are priced by length or by item. The [pricing page](https://lyromusic.com/pricing) has the current table of credit costs. The studio shows the cost of a generation before you confirm it, and that figure applies.

The writing assistant, which is the prompt generator, the lyric writer and rewrites, costs no credits. Each plan includes a number of assistant requests a month instead: 30 on Starter, and from 100 on Creator, growing with the price. A daily limit of 60 requests also applies. Mixing, mastering and export in the studio cost nothing, because they run in your browser.

Prices are in US dollars. If VAT or a similar tax applies, the checkout shows it and the total before you pay. The [pricing page](https://lyromusic.com/pricing) and the checkout show current prices, and the price at checkout is the price you pay. Credits have no cash value and cannot be transferred or sold.

## 5. Carry-over and top-up credits

There are two kinds of credit. Plan credits come with your plan at the start of each billing period. Top-up credits are extra credits that you buy in a credit pack, or that you receive as an invite reward. Lyro always spends plan credits first.

**Plan credits carry over once.** At each renewal you get the new period's credits, and the plan credits you did not use carry over into the new period, up to one month's worth on the plan you are renewing. Anything above that lapses at the renewal. Carry-over continues for as long as the plan stays active. Bonus credits that we add to a plan, for example in an offer, count as plan credits.

**Plan credits lapse when the plan ends.** If you cancel, they stay usable until the end of the period you paid for, and then they are removed. Settings > Billing shows your balance and your renewal date.

**Top-up credits never expire.** Subscribers can buy them in packs, currently 50 credits for $9, 150 credits for $26 or 400 credits for $64. They are spent only when your plan credits have run out. They stay usable after a plan ends, with the features of the Starter plan. You need a plan to buy a pack, but not to spend one. They are removed only if the account is deleted or closed (section 21).

**Top-up credits cost more per credit than plan credits.** At today's prices a top-up credit costs about 2.5 to 2.8 times as much as a credit on the Creator plan. If you run out of credits most months, moving to a bigger plan is the cheaper way to get more.

## 6. Payment, renewal and cancelling

Your plan renews automatically every month until you cancel. Stripe takes the payment at the start of each billing period, and we never see your full card number. We email you at least 30 days before a price change applies to you.

If a payment fails, we tell you by email and in the app, and the card is tried again. Your plan stays on and nothing in your library is deleted while that is going on. If the payment and its retries fail, we may limit or end the plan, and section 10 then applies to your library.

**Cancelling.** You can cancel at any time inside the app. Go to Settings > Billing, choose "Cancel plan" and confirm. That is two clicks. You never need to phone us or email us to cancel. On the way we ask one optional question about why you are leaving, and we may show one offer: a pause, the $3 Starter plan or some bonus credits. You can skip the question, and you decline the offer with one plain button. Neither can stop or delay your cancellation. We confirm the cancellation by email.

Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep your plan and your credits until the end of the period you paid for, and until then you can undo the cancellation in the same place. After that, unused plan credits are removed, top-up credits stay, and section 10 says what happens to your library. We refund part of a period only under section 8, the [refunds page](https://lyromusic.com/legal/refunds) or the law.

## 7. Changing or pausing your plan

You can move between Starter and any stop on the Creator slider, or pause your plan, inside the app in Settings > Billing.

- **Moving up.** We charge the price difference for the rest of the current billing period straight away, worked out pro rata, and we add the extra monthly credits at once. From the next renewal you pay the new price. Because an upgrade starts at once, section 8 applies to it.

- **Moving down.** The change takes effect at your next renewal. Until then you keep the plan you have paid for, and the credits you already have stay. From that renewal you pay the lower price and get the smaller number of credits.

- **Pausing.** You can pause a plan for 1 to 3 months. We count a month as 30 days. While the plan is paused we do not charge you and you get no new credits. Your library stays exactly as it is, and so do the credits you already have. When you pause, we show you the date the pause ends and confirm it by email. The plan then carries on by itself: we take the next payment on your first renewal date after the pause ends, and that period's credits arrive with it. You can end a pause early, or cancel, at any time in Settings > Billing.

## 8. Your 14-day right to cancel

Consumers in the UK or the EU can cancel a new plan or a credit pack within 14 days without giving a reason. In the UK this comes from the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

Lyro starts the moment you pay. At checkout you tick a box to ask us expressly to start straight away, and to acknowledge that you lose the right to cancel for the credits you use. If you cancel within 14 days with no credits used, we refund in full. If you have used credits, you lose the right to cancel for that part, and we reduce the refund in proportion. A renewal does not start a new 14-day period. The [refunds page](https://lyromusic.com/legal/refunds) has the exact words, the steps, the calculation and a model cancellation form.

The same applies when you move up to a bigger plan, because an upgrade also starts at once. Before we charge you, you tick a box that asks us to charge the difference and add the extra credits straight away, and that says you understand that credits you use cannot be refunded. The 14 days run from the day of the upgrade and cover the upgrade charge. If you cancel an upgrade in that time, we refund the upgrade charge, reduced in proportion to the extra credits you have used, and move you back to the plan you had before. For a credit pack, you tick the checkout box, worded for the top-up, before you pay.

## 9. Failed generations

If a generation fails, every credit it took comes back automatically, to the balance it came from. That covers a rejected request, an error and a job that does not finish in time. If the generation was the first step of a longer job, the credits you paid in advance for the later steps come back too. You do not need to ask: you see a notice in the app and a refund line in your credit history.

A track you do not like is not a failure: credits pay for the generation, not for a particular result. If a file is faulty, contact us and we will return the credits or run it again.

## 10. Your library and how long we keep it

Your library is kept for as long as your account is active. An account is active while it has a plan or any unused top-up credits. A paused plan counts as a plan, and so does a plan with a failed payment that is still being retried.

When your account stops being active, for example because your plan has ended and you have no top-up credits, we keep your library for 30 more days. We remind you by email and in the app 30, 7 and 1 days before the deletion date, and each reminder gives the date. Then we delete your tracks and your studio projects. That includes the stems, uploads, recordings and cover art stored with them, and share links to those tracks stop working.

Your account itself stays. You can still sign in, your billing records and credit history remain, and the licence to the tracks you have made continues (section 15). If you start a plan again before the deletion date, everything is kept and the countdown stops. Downloads are never capped, so you can save anything you want to keep before then. Once files are deleted we cannot bring them back.

Each plan has a limit on how much your library can store. If you reach it, the app tells you, and you can make room by deleting files that you no longer need.

We may in future set a storage period for individual tracks, so that a track is kept for a set time after it was made. We have not done this. If we do, we will say so in the app, and no track will be deleted with less than 7 days' notice. A change like that matters, so section 24 applies to it as well: we would email you at least 30 days before it takes effect.

## 11. Invite a friend

Every subscriber has a personal invite link in the app. When a friend opens your link, creates a new account and starts their first paid plan, you both get 20 credits. They are added as top-up credits, so they never expire.

- **When the reward arrives.** 7 days after your friend's first payment, as long as their plan is still active then. If that payment has been refunded or the plan has ended by then, there is no reward.

- **Limit.** At most 10 rewards for one inviter in any 30 days.

- **What does not count.** Inviting yourself, and invites between accounts that appear to come from the same household or network. The friend must be new to Lyro, and both accounts must be open and in good standing when the reward is due.

- **The link.** Opening an invite link sets one cookie, `lyro_ref`, for 30 days. Its only job is to credit the invite, so your friend needs to sign up in the same browser within that time. The [cookies page](https://lyromusic.com/legal/cookies) has the detail.

- **Fair use.** Share your link with people you know. Do not post it as spam or as advertising, and do not create accounts to invite yourself. We may withhold a reward if we reasonably believe that the programme is being abused. If you think we withheld one by mistake, contact us and a person will review it.

We do not ask for your friends' contact details, and we do not message them. Invite rewards have no cash value. We may change or end the programme for future invites. Rewards you have already earned are not affected.

## 12. Messages inside the app, and email

**Tips, product news and offers inside the app are switched on by default.** They appear as cards, banners or slide-ins while you are using Lyro. By creating an account you agree to receive them. You can switch them off at any time in Settings > Notifications. Switching them off changes nothing else about your plan, your account or your rights.

Messages about your own account are always shown, whatever that switch says. Examples are a failed payment, a plan that is ending or paused, a reminder that your library will be deleted, a reply from support and a credit refund.

We hold ourselves to these limits for tips, product news and offers:

- promotional messages: at most 1 in a day and 5 in a week, although the same message may still be there when you come back to a page on the same day;

- never while a generation is running;

- a message that you dismiss stays away for 7 days, for 30 days after a second dismissal, and for good after a third;

- no countdown timers and no made-up scarcity.

A small share of accounts, picked at random, never gets promotional messages, so that we can measure whether the messages help. The [privacy notice](https://lyromusic.com/legal/privacy) explains what we record.

**Email.** We always send emails about your account: receipts, failed payments, confirmation that you cancelled or paused, reminders before your library is deleted, replies from support and similar notices. We send tips, product news and offers by email only if you ask for them. The box on the sign-up form is unticked by default, there is a switch in Settings, and every such email has a one-click unsubscribe link.

## 13. Help and support

Help inside the app opens a conversation with our team. So that you do not have to explain your account, the conversation carries your plan, your credit balance and your last failed generation automatically. The [contact form](https://lyromusic.com/contact) on the website reaches the same team, and you do not need an account to use it.

We aim to reply within one working day. That is a target and not a guarantee.

## 14. Your content

What you bring to Lyro stays yours: audio you upload or record, lyrics, prompts and titles.

You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, copy, process and transmit your content, only to provide and secure the service. That includes sending it to the model providers that carry out your request and serving share links you switch on. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, unless we must keep a copy for a complaint or a legal claim. It does not let us train AI models on your content or use your tracks in marketing without your agreement.

You promise that you have the rights to your content, in both the recording and the song, that every person whose voice is in it has agreed, and that it follows the acceptable use policy.

If someone claims against us because your content infringes their rights or breaks that policy, you will compensate us for the reasonable losses and costs that result, including reasonable legal fees. Our model provider's terms put the same duty on us. We will tell you about a claim promptly, and this does not apply to the extent that we caused the problem.

## 15. Your tracks: the licence and the copyright position

As between you and us, you own whatever rights exist in the tracks you make. We claim none. To the extent that we hold any rights in them, we grant you a worldwide, perpetual, royalty-free licence to use your tracks commercially. Every paid plan includes it, and it also covers tracks that you make with top-up credits after a plan has ended. It continues after your plan ends, and after we delete our copy of a track under section 10, for the tracks you have made. It is subject to these terms and to our model providers' terms (section 17), and it does not cover a track made or used in breach of them.

We do not promise that copyright protects your tracks. The US Copyright Office has said that works generated entirely by AI are not copyrightable and that prompts alone are not enough, although parts that a person wrote, selected, arranged or changed can be. In the UK, section 9(3) of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 protects computer-generated works, but the Government's March 2026 report on copyright and AI said that protection should be removed, and the law is under review.

Your own lyrics, vocal, arrangement and edits stay yours. Other users may receive similar output and may use theirs. The [music rights page](https://lyromusic.com/legal/music-rights) has the plain-English version.

## 16. No promise of originality

AI output can resemble existing music, lyrics or voices, even when you did not ask for that. We do not promise that output is original or non-infringing, or that a platform will accept it, and we do not indemnify you against claims about your tracks. Check before you release: listen for a close resemblance to a known song or singer, and do not release a track that worries you.

## 17. Acceptable use and model providers’ policies

You must follow the [acceptable use policy](https://lyromusic.com/legal/acceptable-use). Among other things, it bans cloning a real person's voice without documented consent, uploading material you have no rights to, deceptive or illegal content, streaming fraud, automated sign-ups, and opening extra accounts or abusing the invite programme to collect credits.

Lyro reaches its AI models, currently Google Lyria 3 Pro and ACE-Step 1.5, through fal.ai. The [fal.ai acceptable use policy](https://fal.ai/legal/acceptable-use-policy) and Google's [generative AI prohibited use policy](https://policies.google.com/terms/generative-ai/use-policy) form part of these terms. If a provider changes its policy, we may have to change what Lyro allows.

## 18. Labels, watermarks and AI disclosure

Your tracks are marked as AI-generated, and the marks must stay. Lyria 3 Pro output carries Google's SynthID watermark, and every download of generated audio carries an ID3 tag, a block of data in the file that declares it AI-generated. Do not remove, alter or hide them.

When you publish, keep the AI-generated label and metadata wherever the law or the platform requires it, including under Article 50 of the EU AI Act, which applies from 2 August 2026. Answer truthfully when a distributor or platform asks about AI. If editing or converting a file strips the tag, the duty to disclose stays with you.

## 19. Share links and reports

A share link is unlisted: search engines are told not to index it and there is no public feed, but anyone with the link can listen. You can switch it off at any time, and you are responsible for what you share. Every share page has a "Report this track" control. We review reports and may switch off a link or remove a track while we look into it. Rights holders can use the [copyright page](https://lyromusic.com/legal/copyright).

## 20. Changes to the service and the models

Lyro will change. We may add, replace or retire models and features, and change credit costs for future generations. We do not promise that a specific model stays available or that a prompt gives the same result later. If a change removes something important that you paid for, we tell you in advance where we can, and you may cancel and get a refund for the unused part of the period. The service may be interrupted at times, and Lyro is not a backup, so download the tracks you care about.

## 21. Suspension and ending the contract

You can end the contract at any time by cancelling your plan, or by deleting your account in Settings. Deleting your account ends any paid plan at the same moment, so you are never charged again. It also erases your tracks, projects, support conversations and activity, and it removes any credits you have left, including top-up credits, so use them first. It cannot be undone. Section 6 applies to refunds in the same way as when you cancel, so if you want to use the time you have paid for, cancel the plan and delete the account after the period ends.

We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, do not pay, or put other people or the service at risk, or if the law requires it. We give notice and a chance to put things right where reasonable, and we act at once in serious cases such as illegal content or fraud.

When an account closes, access ends and your tracks and credits are deleted. If we close it for your serious breach, we refund only what the law requires. If we close it for any other reason, we refund the unused part of the period and unused top-up credits at the price you paid. Sections 14 to 16, 22 and 25 continue after the contract ends.

## 22. Our responsibility to you

We do not exclude or limit liability where that would be unlawful. That covers death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and your legal rights as a consumer, including a service provided with reasonable care and skill and digital content that is as described and of satisfactory quality.

Otherwise:

- we are responsible only for foreseeable loss caused by our breach or by our failure to use reasonable care and skill;

- we are not liable for business losses, such as lost profit, lost business or business interruption, even though your licence lets you earn money from your tracks;

- our total liability to you is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the event that gave rise to the claim;

- we are not responsible for events outside our reasonable control, including a failure at a model provider.

## 23. Complaints

Tell us first, so that we can fix it. Contact us through [the contact form](https://lyromusic.com/contact) or [hello@lyromusic.com](mailto:hello@lyromusic.com). If we cannot settle a complaint, we will tell you in writing, name an alternative dispute resolution provider that could handle it, and say whether we are prepared to use it. You can also go to court under section 25.

## 24. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms to reflect changes in the law, the service, our providers' terms or our prices. For a change that matters, we email you at least 30 days before it takes effect, unless the law or a security problem needs a faster change. If you do not accept it, you can cancel before it takes effect, and we refund any period paid for beyond that date.

## 25. Governing law, courts and other terms

The law of England and Wales governs these terms. Consumers living elsewhere keep the protection of the mandatory laws of their country. You can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales, in your local courts if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, and, as a consumer outside the UK, in your home courts where the law entitles you to.

We may transfer this contract to an organisation that takes over Lyro without affecting your rights. You may not transfer it. Nobody else has rights under it. If part of it is found invalid, the rest still applies, and a delay in enforcing a term does not waive it.
