# Cancellation and refunds

Last updated 21 September 2026

- You can cancel at any time inside the app, in Settings > Billing, in two clicks. Your plan then runs to the end of the period you paid for.

- You can pause a plan for up to 3 months instead. A paused plan costs nothing.

- Consumers in the UK and the EU have 14 days to change their mind about a new plan, an upgrade or a top-up credit pack. If no credits were used, the refund is full. If credits were used, the refund is reduced in proportion.

- Failed generations return their credits automatically.

- Nothing here reduces your legal rights.

This summary is a guide and is not legally binding wording.

## 1. Cancelling your plan

You can cancel at any time inside the app. Go to Settings > Billing, choose "Cancel plan" and confirm. That is two clicks, and you do not need to call or email us. Before you confirm, we ask one optional question about why you are leaving, and we may show one offer: a pause, the $3 Starter plan or some bonus credits. You can skip the question, and you decline the offer with one plain button. Neither delays the cancellation. We confirm it by email.

Cancelling stops the next renewal and takes effect at the end of the billing period you have paid for. Until then you keep your plan and your credits, and you can undo the cancellation in Settings > Billing. After that:

- unused plan credits are removed;

- top-up credits stay. They never expire, and you can still spend them, with the features of the Starter plan;

- your library is kept while your account is active, which means while it has a plan or unused top-up credits. When it is no longer active, we keep the library for 30 more days, remind you by email and in the app 30, 7 and 1 days before the deletion date, and then delete your tracks and projects. Downloads are never capped, so you can save everything first. Section 10 of the [terms](https://lyromusic.com/legal/terms#your-library) has the detail.

We do not refund the rest of a billing period when you cancel, unless a section below or the law says otherwise. Deleting your account also ends any paid plan, at the same moment, and the same rule on refunds applies. So if you want to use the time you have paid for, cancel the plan and delete the account after the period ends.

## 2. Pausing or changing your plan instead

If you want a break, you can pause a plan for 1 to 3 months in Settings > Billing. While it is paused we do not charge you and you get no new credits. Your library stays as it is. The plan carries on by itself when the pause ends, and we take the next payment on your first renewal date after that. You can end a pause early, or cancel, at any time.

You can also move to a smaller plan. That takes effect at your next renewal, and the credits you already have stay. If you move to a bigger plan, we charge the difference for the rest of the period straight away and add the extra credits at once. Section 6 covers refunds for upgrades.

## 3. Your 14-day right to cancel

If you are a consumer in the UK or the European Union, you can cancel an online purchase within 14 days without giving a reason. In the UK this comes from the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

The 14 days start on the day after you buy. The right applies to the first payment for a plan, to each move up to a bigger plan and to each top-up credit pack. A monthly renewal does not start a new 14-day period, unless the law where you live says otherwise. You meet the deadline if you send your message before the 14 days end.

## 4. If you have used no credits

We refund the full price. The plan ends when we process the cancellation.

## 5. If you have used credits

We refund the price, reduced in proportion to the credits you used. Lyro starts the moment you pay, because at checkout you ask us to start by ticking a box with these words:

> I want Lyro to start my subscription immediately. I understand that once I use credits I lose my 14-day right to cancel for a refund of those credits.

Your order confirmation email repeats this. Because you asked us to start during the 14 days, you pay for what you used before you cancelled. We measure that in credits, because credits are what the price buys:

**Refund = price paid, multiplied by unused credits, divided by credits included.**

An example: Starter costs $3 and includes 45 credits. You make 3 songs with Lyria 3 Pro, which uses 12 credits and leaves 33. You cancel on day five. We refund $3 multiplied by 33 and divided by 45, which is $2.20.

Credits that came back to you from failed generations count as unused. You keep the tracks you made and the licence to them. The plan ends when we process the cancellation, and the remaining plan credits are removed. Your library is then kept under the 30-day rule in section 1. If you have used every credit, there is nothing left to refund.

## 6. Plan upgrades

Moving up to a bigger plan starts at once: we charge the price difference for the rest of the billing period and add the extra credits straight away. Before we do, you tick a box that asks us to do exactly that, and that says you understand that credits you use cannot be refunded.

You can cancel an upgrade within 14 days of making it. If you have used none of the extra credits, we refund the upgrade charge in full. If you have used some, we reduce the refund in proportion, as in section 5. We count the credits you had before the upgrade as used first, so the extra credits count as used only when those have run out. We then remove the unused extra credits and move you back to the plan you had before. Cancelling an upgrade does not cancel your plan.

## 7. Top-up credit packs

The same 14-day rules apply to a top-up credit pack. Top-up credits are added as soon as your payment succeeds, and before you pay you tick the checkout box, worded for the top-up. If you cancel within 14 days and none of the pack's credits have been used, we refund the full price. If some have been used, we reduce the refund in proportion.

Lyro spends plan credits first, so top-up credits are touched only when your plan credits have run out. Top-up credits never expire, and they stay usable after a plan ends. They cost more per credit than plan credits: at today's prices about 2.5 to 2.8 times as much as a credit on the Creator plan. After the 14 days a pack is not refundable, except where the law says otherwise. If we close your account for a reason other than a serious breach of the terms, we refund unused top-up credits at the price you paid.

## 8. How to ask for a refund

Tell us clearly that you want to cancel and be refunded. Contact us through [the contact form](https://lyromusic.com/contact) or [hello@lyromusic.com](mailto:hello@lyromusic.com). You can also write to RNIFY Limited at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. You may use the model form below, but you do not have to. Include the email address on your Lyro account, so that we can find the purchase. We will confirm that we have received your message.

We refund to the payment method you used, without undue delay and no later than 14 days after the day you told us. We charge no fee for a refund. Your bank may take a few days to show it. Prices are in US dollars, so the amount in your own currency can differ slightly from the original charge.

## 9. Model cancellation form

Copy this text into a message or a letter, and fill it in only if you want to cancel within the 14 days.

> To RNIFY Limited, trading as Lyro, 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom I hereby give notice that I cancel my contract for the supply of the following service: Lyro subscription, Lyro plan upgrade, or Lyro top-up credit pack (delete the ones that do not apply). Ordered on: Name of consumer: Address of consumer: Email address on the Lyro account: Signature of consumer (only if this form is sent on paper): Date:

## 10. Failed generations

If a generation fails, every credit it took comes back automatically, to the balance it came from. This happens when the model provider rejects the request, returns an error or does not finish in time. If the generation was the first step of a longer job, the credits you paid in advance for the later steps come back as well. You do not need to ask. You see a notice in the app, and the refund appears as a line in your credit history in Settings > Billing.

A track you do not like is not a failed generation, because credits pay for the generation and not for a particular result. If a file is faulty, for example silent, cut short or unplayable, contact us and we will return the credits or run it again.

These are refunds of credits. Refunds of money follow the other sections of this page.

## 11. If something is wrong with Lyro

Tell us, and we will put it right. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, a service must be carried out with reasonable care and skill, and digital content must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. If Lyro falls short, we will fix the problem, run the generation again or return the credits. Where that is not possible, you may be entitled to a price reduction or a refund.

## 12. Chargebacks

If you see a charge that you do not recognise or do not agree with, contact us first. We can usually sort it out faster than a bank can.

A chargeback is a dispute that you raise through your bank or card issuer. If you open one, we may suspend the account while the bank looks into it. If a chargeback is made for a charge that was valid, we may close the account. Nothing here limits your right to dispute a charge with your bank.

## 13. Your legal rights

Nothing on this page reduces your statutory rights. If you live outside the UK, you also keep the mandatory consumer protections of your own country. In the UK, [Citizens Advice](https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/consumer/) gives free advice on consumer rights.
