# How to make a jingle or ad song for your business with AI

Updated 29 September 2026, 7 min read, by the Lyro Music team

To make a jingle or an ad song with AI, start from what you sell: one customer, the moment the problem shows up, two or three benefits you can prove, and a call to action. Turn that into a short lyric with the hook first, your name in the chorus and your address sung at the end, then generate a few takes and keep the one that says the name clearly. On Lyro Music, Song Ad reads a product page and sings a 60 to 100 second ad song for 12 credits to 20 credits, writing the brief and the lyrics from the page for you. Before the ad runs, label it as AI-generated where the platform asks and keep the evidence behind every claim.

## Jingle, ad song or sonic logo

Three things get called a jingle, and they are made differently:

- **A sonic logo** is a few notes, often only the name sung or played, used at the end of every ad. It is too short for a story or a claim.

- **A jingle** is a short, catchy song built around the name and one idea, the kind that runs under a radio spot or opens a podcast.

- **An ad song** is a full short song that sells one product: a person, a problem, the product as the turn of the story, a benefit or two, and a call to action. It is what social ads with music use when the song is the ad.

The steps below work for all three; only the length changes.

## Start from what you sell

Write a brief before a single line of lyrics. It takes five minutes and decides whether the song sells.

- **One customer.** Not “women 25 to 40” but “a night nurse who cannot sleep after a shift”. A song speaks to one person at a time.

- **The moment.** When does the problem show up? Three in the morning, the checkout page, the school run.

- **The benefits you can prove.** Two or three, each backed by something you can show. In the US the Federal Trade Commission expects a “reasonable basis” for a claim before the ad runs ([US Federal Trade Commission](https://www.ftc.gov/business-guidance/resources/advertising-faqs-guide-small-business)); in the UK, rule 3.7 of the CAP Code asks for documentary evidence first ([UK CAP Code](https://www.asa.org.uk/type/non_broadcast/code_section/03.html)). A sung claim is still a claim.

- **The call to action.** One thing to do, said simply: “order at shop dot com”, “try it tonight”.

- **The name as it is said.** If your brand is spelled one way and said another, write the spoken version down now. AI singers read what you write.

Your own product page usually has all of this. Lyro’s [Song Ad](https://lyromusic.com/features/song-ad) reads it and writes the brief for you, keeping only the benefits it can quote from the page.

## Write lyrics that sell and sing

- **Hook first.** The first sung line decides whether anyone keeps listening. Make it a confession in the customer’s voice (“I flip my pillow five times a night”), not a pitch.

- **The name in the chorus.** The chorus comes back, so the name does too. Put it in the chorus’s first line.

- **Not too often.** In our own test on 29 September 2026, the music model behind Lyro High refused lyrics that sang a made-up product name five times, as if it were an artist’s name, and accepted the same song with the name three times. Once in each chorus and once in the address is enough.

- **One benefit per line,** in plain words. Leave out anything you cannot prove.

- **The call to action last,** then your address the way people say it: “shop dot com” in English, “punto com” in Spanish.

- **Fit the lines to the length.** A sung line takes about two bars. At a pop tempo of 112 BPM that is about four seconds, so a 30-second jingle holds about six sung lines and a 60-second song about 12. More lines make the singer rush and cut the ending.

- **A song, not a review.** The customer in the song is a character. Do not present the song as a real customer’s testimonial; the FTC expects endorsements to reflect honest experience ([US Federal Trade Commission](https://www.ftc.gov/business-guidance/resources/advertising-faqs-guide-small-business)).

## Make it with Lyro

Two ways, depending on how long it should be:

- **An ad song from your page.** Paste your product page into [Song Ad](https://lyromusic.com/features/song-ad). Lyro writes the brief (three first lines to choose from, the claims your page backs up, the call to action), then lyrics sized to the length, and sings a 60 to 100 second song with a short instrumental ending. It costs 12 credits for 60 seconds, up to 20 credits for 100.

- **A short jingle from a sentence.** Open Create, describe the jingle and paste your lyric. Songs start at 30 seconds and cost 4 credits on Lyro High. The [jingle prompts](https://lyromusic.com/prompts/jingle) show how to describe the sound.

Either way, make two or three takes and listen for the name. To cut a 15- or 30-second version, open a take in the [studio](https://lyromusic.com/features/mixing-mastering), trim it to the chorus and the call to action, add a fade and export it. There is no free tier: Starter is $9 a month for 20 credits. More on the product in [AI jingle generator](https://lyromusic.com/features/ai-jingle-generator).

## Fit the length to where it runs

| Where it runs | What the source says | Source |
|---|---|---|
| UK commercial radio | The most common spots are 30 and 40 seconds | Radiocentre |
| US radio | 15 seconds for a simple message or the name, 30 for a single offer, 60 for detail or an entertaining ad | Radio Advertising Bureau (US) |
| TikTok reservation in-feed ads | 5 to 60 seconds, 9 to 15 recommended | TikTok Ads Manager help |
| Facebook and Instagram | Long maximums by placement, no recommended length; shorter videos are usually more engaging on mobile | Meta Business Help Centre |

A 60-second song is long for most paid placements and fine where length is free: YouTube, your own site, a product video, in-store or on hold. For short spots, cut the chorus and the call to action from the full song, so the short version and the long one sound like the same brand.

## Before the ad runs

- **Label it as AI where the platform asks.** TikTok makes its AI-generated disclaimer mandatory for ads whose audio is completely AI-generated ([TikTok Ads Manager help](https://ads.tiktok.com/help/article/about-ad-disclaimers-in-tiktok-ads-manager)), and ads with undisclosed AI content are rejected or restricted ([TikTok advertising policies](https://ads.tiktok.com/help/article/tiktok-ads-policy-misleading-and-false-content)). YouTube lists AI-generated music among the content creators must disclose ([YouTube Help](https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/14328491)). Meta adds its own “AI info” label when it detects AI tools ([Meta Business Help Centre](https://www.facebook.com/business/help/1010479435004531)).

- **Keep the evidence** for every claim the song sings. Disclosing AI does not fix a misleading message ([Advertising Standards Authority](https://www.asa.org.uk/news/disclosure-of-ai-in-advertising-striking-the-balance-between-creativity-and-responsibility.html)).

- **Check the licence** of the tool you used for the kind of ad you are running. Some AI music tools allow no commercial use at all; see [can you use AI music in ads?](https://lyromusic.com/learn/can-you-use-ai-music-in-ads) On Lyro, every paid plan includes a commercial licence for what you make, subject to Lyro’s terms and its model providers’ policies.

- **No borrowed fame.** No real singer’s voice, no famous melody and no other brand’s jingle.

## Questions

### Can AI make a jingle for my business?

Yes. You give it the brief (who it is for, what the product does, the name and the call to action) and it writes and sings the song. On Lyro Music, Song Ad reads a product page and sings a 60 to 100 second ad song for 12 credits to 20 credits; a shorter jingle can be made in Create from 30 seconds. Check the name in every take, because AI singers can misread brand names.

### How long should a jingle be?

As long as the slot it plays in. UK radio’s most common spots are 30 and 40 seconds ([Radiocentre](https://www.radiocentre.org/how-to-do-it/planning-your-campaign/using-spot-advertising/)), and TikTok recommends 9 to 15 seconds for its reservation in-feed ads ([TikTok Ads Manager help](https://ads.tiktok.com/help/article/tiktok-reservation-in-feed-ads-reach-frequency)). Make the full song first, then cut the chorus and the call to action for short spots.

### Do I have to say the jingle was made with AI?

On some platforms, yes. TikTok requires its AI-generated disclaimer on ads whose audio is completely AI-generated, and YouTube asks creators to disclose AI-generated music. In the UK there is no blanket legal duty, but the ASA advises disclosure where leaving it out would mislead ([Advertising Standards Authority](https://www.asa.org.uk/news/disclosure-of-ai-in-advertising-striking-the-balance-between-creativity-and-responsibility.html)).

### Can I use a famous song or make it sound like one?

No. A famous song needs a sync licence from its rightsholders ([PRS for Music](https://www.prsformusic.com/get-a-music-licence/commercial-music-sync-licensing)), and the AI models refuse real artists’ names and existing lyrics. Describe the sound you want instead: the genre, the tempo, the instruments and the kind of voice.

### How much does an AI ad song cost on Lyro?

12 credits for 60 seconds, up to 20 credits for 100. Starter is $9 a month for 20 credits and Creator starts at $19 for 80. There is no free tier.
