Keep the phrases you like, then sing your own words to them, or write lyrics and have Lyro sing those. ## The details ### What a topline is, and what you get A [topline](https://lyromusic.com/glossary#topline) is the vocal melody, and usually the words, written over an instrumental. Here you get the melody half: a sung line that follows your beat, on its own track, so you can hear it with the beat, mute it or cut it up. Use it to test whether a beat has room for a hook, to find a cadence for the chorus, or to give a writer a starting point. ### How it works The improvised path runs in Lyro’s studio tools, which take audio as input. They hear your beat itself and generate a vocal part that follows its rhythm and harmony, then return only that part. Your beat is not changed. The voice description you type steers the character; with nothing typed, Lyro asks for a soulful lead vocal with a melodic hook. The model writes its own melody for them; it will not copy the improvised one note for note. - **Use a phrase as a hook.** Split out a phrase you like in the studio, duplicate it and use it as a vocal hook. ### Where the limits are - It does not sing your lyrics.
