If the drums drift from your timing, run it again. Then balance the two and master. ## The details ### What makes a good acapella for this - **Dry.** No reverb or delay printed on it. Echo tails blur the rhythm the music has to follow. - **Alone.** No beat, click or guide track bleeding into the microphone. Anything in the file is heard as part of the performance. - **In time.** Sung or rapped to a steady tempo. A vocal with no steady pulse gives a looser fit. - **Lead first.** Start from the lead vocal on its own. Add your doubles, harmonies and ad-libs back in the studio, on tracks of their own. - **A clean level.** No clipping, and some headroom below the maximum. Lyro’s reading of a vocal on its own is an estimate, and with no drums to lean on it can land on half or double the real tempo, or on the relative key, such as A minor for C major. Type your session values before you generate. Bounce the acapella from the start of a bar, silence before the first word included, so the vocal keeps its place in the bar and the studio grid has a clean starting point. ### What you get back A new track of instruments only, generated to your vocal: drums, bass, keys, percussion or synths, in the style you describe. Your acapella stays on its own track, untouched. In the studio you can bring the voice forward, process it on its own, add your harmonies and ad-libs on extra tracks, and export the mix as WAV. When the drums wander from your timing, generate again. - Tempo detection can land on half or double, and key detection on the relative key. Check both before you spend credits. - You steer the music with a genre or a description. You cannot hum a bassline or a riff and have it copied note for note. - Stacked vocals, printed effects or a guide beat in the file give a looser fit. - The music will not always be what a producer would have written for your song. Plan on a few attempts and some mixing. - The new music is instruments only. Backing vocals and harmonies are not added. ### Your own vocals only Upload an acapella you recorded, or one you have written permission to use, such as a feature verse sent to you for your track. They come back as their own track, and your vocal stays untouched on another. ### Will Lyro change or re-sing my vocal? No. Your recording plays exactly as you recorded it. Lyro only writes the instruments around it, as a separate track, and never re-sings or clones the voice. ### Does it work with a rap acapella? Yes, the same way: the music is written around the timing of your voice. Our own checks used sung vocals, so judge the first rap take by ear. Confirm the tempo first: trap is usually made at 130 to 160 BPM and felt at half that, and detection can read it at half.
